BluePoint Planning designed community engagement efforts for two Station Access Studies for Valley Transportation Authority (VTA)– one for Winchester Light Rail Station and one for the Berryessa BART and Bus Station. The goal of each Access Study was to understand challenges that users face in accessing the Station via walking, biking, or public transportation. The outcome of the Study is recommendations for key pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements to the Station area (one mile radius around the Station). BluePoint Planning designed engagement materials, including boards for pop-ups and online surveys, to gather feedback on community challenges and needs regarding station access. BluePoint also led in-person outreach to community groups, running pop-up events, directly reaching seniors, youth, and low-income communities in the Station areas.
