Bay Area Regional Collaborative Organizational Update

Bay Area Regional Collaborative

NHA Advisors and BluePoint Planning partnered to lead a year-long strategic planning and organizational assessment with the Bay Area Regional Collaborative (BARC) to help identify BARC’s purpose and role within the region and to update its organizational structure. BARC was originally mandated to ensure coordination between MTC and ABAG, expanded over the years to include BCDC and the Air District as key members, as well as Caltrans, the SF Water Quality Control Board, and the State Coastal Conservancy as contributors.
After more than 20 years of collaborating with regional agencies and stakeholders, building a successful role in sea level rise adaptation, and seeing a changing regional landscape and differing priorities, a new approach was needed. The Team helped to establish a new mission and goals, and purpose, as well as evaluated how a new regional lens focused on climate, housing, and equity could be used to expand the organization’s reach and impact.
